Margaret Ann Berman Obituary

Margaret Ann (Zuratt) Berman, 57, of Trappe, PA passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 7, 2020.  She was born in Fairfax, VA, the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Murphy) Zuratt. She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Millersville University in 1986. She worked at Merck & Co Pharmaceutical Company in West Point for 30 years. Her longest and most loved job there was Manager of Engineering for Merck West Point Water Utilities. She loved her job and was passionate about clean water. She loved taking care of the earth and the water of the Wissahickon Creek.

She was so many things to so many people and built loving supportive communities wherever she went. She had many hobbies, participating in Collegeville Running Group, at least seven marathons and two 50k races, CrossFit competitions, tough mudder races, golfing with friends, bunco, yoga, and book group. She loved the beach, drinking beer and wine, cooking good food, reading Steven King novels and listening to the Grateful Dead. She loved podcasts about animal facts, going to the movies, advice columns, newspaper puzzles and long walks in the woods with her dog.

She is survived and deeply missed by her two children, Katherine and Samuel, and her brothers and sister, Richard, husband of Eileen Zuratt, Michael, husband of Linda Zuratt, and Karen, wife of Leonard Lanetti.  She is also remembered by her companion, John Rufe, her former husband, Ira Berman, and her beloved pets, Joshua and Haley.

There will be a visitation in her honor on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 12PM to 2PM at Devlin Rosmos, Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home at 517 S. Main St. Phoenixville, PA 19460.  Her family plans to have a larger memorial at a later date when COVID restrictions are lifted. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Love a Canine Rescue at www.tlcrescuepa.com.
