Maria Busa 90, of Needham passed away peacefully on Nov. 11th, 2020.

Born in Santo Stefano Di Briga, Sicily to Giovanni and Lavinia Busa. She spent most of her formative school years in Asmara Eritrea, Africa and moved to Belmont, MA in 1955.

Shortly after arriving in Belmont, she attended Bentley College where she received her bachelor’s degree in accounting. She worked as an executive at New England Life Insurance in Boston, MA for over 30 years before retiring in 1992. Throughout her working life, Maria enjoyed traveling the world visiting many countries.

Maria was a kind, wonderful, and selfless person. Whether caring for her aging mother, spoiling her nephews and niece, as well as their extended families, or offering a helping hand to elderly neighbors, her thoughts and actions were always directed toward making her loved ones happy.

She was the dear sister of Antonino Busa and his wife Lucy of Needham, Josephine Sergi and her husband Gaetano (late) of Waltham, and Joseph Busa (late) and his wife Carol (late) of Bonita Springs FL.

Maria was a beloved aunt to her nephews and niece: John Sergi, Robert Sergi, Guy Sergi, John Busa, Mark Busa, Andrew Busa, Jonathan Busa and Lianne Busa.

Due to the current spike in Covid-19 and out of genuine concern for the safety of those we love and care about during this difficult time, relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation in accordance with CDC, Federal, State and local guidelines in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, Ma. on Friday November 20th from 12:00 pm.- 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service in celebration of Maria's life will follow at 1:00 pm.
