Kenneth Murray Cameron Obituary

KENNETH MURRAY CAMERON It is with great sadness that we announce peacefully, with family by his side, Kenneth "Murray" Cameron passed away in the Stonewall hospital on Thursday, November 5th, 2020. Murray was born in Virden on February 27th, 1948 and resided in the village of Woodnorth all his life until moving to Stonewall in 2017 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Ria, his son Michael, his daughter and son-in-law Tara-Lee & Andrew Koss and his beloved grandchildren Daniel, Cameron, and Kaleb. Also survived by his brother Robert (Verina), sister Ferne (Bob), sisters-in-law Jean (Dick) and Marge (Roy), along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Christopher, his parents Ken & Ruth Cameron, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Marcus & Adri Ray and his brothers-in-law Ben Ray and Howard Jensen. Murray was a proud farmer all his life (cattle & grain) and farmed alongside his Dad until he took over the family farm. He was an avid sports fan having played baseball, fastball, hockey, and curling growing up and then following his children's hockey, ringette, fastball, and volleyball activities. Later on, he followed his grandchildren's hockey and baseball. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and all their accomplishments. Murray was a very friendly person and no matter where we went, he seemed to know someone and if he didn't then he would get to know them as he would talk to everyone. He loved visiting with family and friends and loved a good joke and laugh. He really enjoyed life and had many great times with the parents of the children's hockey and ringette teams as well as family, neighbors and friends. He always took two weeks off away from the farm to enjoy an annual family vacation when the children were younger. After retirement, enjoyed trips to Arizona, New Zealand, Holland, Ireland and Niagara Falls. He belonged and helped out with the Woodnorth Community Club, Woodnorth Church and the Woodnorth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to IERHA Palliative Care Program, Box 5000, 120 Easton Drive, Selkirk, MB, R1A 2M2 (specify Stonewall) OR Virden Area Foundation, Box 2319, Virden, MB, R0M 2C0 (specify Woodnorth Homecoming). Special thanks to the homecare ladies, nurses, health care aids, and hospital staff for the excellent care given to Murray. Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
