John R. Kane, age 89, resident of Richland since 2000, passed away Tuesday at his home. John was born September 26, 1931 in Rochester the son of John and Amelia Carter Kane. He attended Rochester schools. John served in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1955 during the Korean War. John was married to Patricia in 2004 and she passed away March 11, 2008. He was employed as a roofer for 35 years with Roofer Local #22 in Rochester. He worked for Elmer Davis Roofing and Stern Roofing for many years. Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Green of North Rose, three sons, Bert and Keith Cronk both of Altmar and Michael Kane of Wolcott, two sisters, Jesse Brook of Spencerport and Patricia Elschker of Rochester, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 13th at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, with burial in Richland Cemetery with military honors. A calling hour will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
