<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Edward &quot;Al&quot; Allen Moeller, 92, of Redfield, SD, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at the Community Memorial Hospital Avera in Redfield.&nbsp; Public visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Redfield.&nbsp; Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. with military honors outside the church after the service.&nbsp; Reverend John Short will officiate.&nbsp; Inurnment will follow at a later date.</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>The Mass at 10:30 a.m. will be live-streamed to the funeral home&#39;s website.&nbsp; Masks and social distancing are recommended.&nbsp; Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield.&nbsp; (www.hykefuneralhome.com)</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>On February 25, 1928, Edward Allen Moeller was born in Redfield, SD to Otto and Anna (Fink) Moeller.&nbsp; He attended Catholic school in Zell, SD until the eighth grade.&nbsp; In 1951, he joined the Marine Corps in San Diego, CA.&nbsp; He returned home to the family farm in 1952.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Edward married Villa Barton on February 11, 1956, in Mellette, SD.&nbsp; They loved to have a great time together and with family and friends.&nbsp; He enjoyed dancing, roller skating, roller blading, bike riding, golfing, fishing, camping, hunting, reading, boating, and snowmobiling.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>He was the best backhoe operator in Spink County.&nbsp; For many years, he worked at Leinen&rsquo;s Construction and spent 15 years working for the county.&nbsp; He was known as a self-taught man.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Edward was a proud 60 plus-year member of the American Legion, serving as Commander for many years.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Grateful for sharing his life are his wife, Villa Moeller of Redfield; and children:&nbsp; Lana Francis of Herndon, VA; Steve (Patty) Moeller of Creston, IA; Sandy (Jim) Rikard of Lawton, OK; and Lisa (Russ) Franks of Redfield.&nbsp; He is also survived by ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Hahn, Linda Brunn, Donna Palmer; and many nieces and nephews.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers:&nbsp; Martin, Edwin, and Laurens; sisters:&nbsp; Carolyn, Clara, and Edna; granddaughter Jessica Moeller; grandson Levi Zens; great-grandson Teague Miller; and son-in-law Joe Francis.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials directed to the Clay Kiser American Legion Post #92 or the Alzheimer&rsquo;s Association of South Dakota.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>---------------------------------------------------------------</i></b></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Thank you to the participants in Edward&#39;s service:</i></b></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Clergy -&nbsp;</i>Reverend John Short</b></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><b><em>Lector -&nbsp;</em>Patty Moeller</b></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><b><em>Organist -&nbsp;</em>Barb Baus</b></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><b><em>Cantor and Soloist - </em>Sheri Zens</b></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong><em>Pallbearers -&nbsp;</em>Steven Moeller, James Rikard, Dave Moeller, Wes Ford, Rich Gruenwald, Jerry Gruenwald</strong></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong><em>Honorary Pallbearers -&nbsp;</em>Alexandra Evans, Ashley Miller, Jonathon Francis, Michael Francis, Dave Franks, Rayn Franks, Stacey Osterkamp, Rebecca Franks</strong></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong><em>Military Honors:</em></strong></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Clay Kiser American Legion Post #92 - Redfield, SD</strong></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Paul A.
