Linda Erickson Obituary

*** Linda's service has been rescheduled to Friday, December 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton.

Linda Rae (Pladson) Erickson, 73, of Hatton, ND passed away Monday, November 9, 2020 at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton.   Per current COVID guidelines,  a private funeral will be held Friday, December 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton, ND.   The funeral will be livestreamed through St. John Lutheran Church Facebook page for those that would like to be a part of Linda’s Celebration of Life.

Linda was born November 25, 1946 in Mayville to Nobell and Delores (Enger) Pladson.  She graduated from Hatton High School in 1964 and married Lyle Erickson on July 31, 1964 at Little Forks Lutheran Church, rural Hatton.  She worked as a dental assistant in Fargo until they began farming in 1974 in Hatton.   Linda was a very active member of their community as she served on the board at the Tri County Nursing Home and the initiation of the Dollars for Scholars school program, along with several different church committees.

Linda was known for her delicious meals and baking traditions.   She had a special love for their eight grandchildren and the countless sleepovers.  Linda was blessed last Friday with the arrival of her first great grandchild.    She and Lyle were grateful for all the travel they were able to do throughout their life with family, friends, and new friends along the way.

Linda was blessed to be surrounded by so many great friends, family, and wonderful caregivers from Hatton Prairie Village in her long battle against Alzheimer’sDisease.  We are extremely proud of her commitment to make a difference in the battle against alzheimers by participation in a Mayo Clinic research study and donation of her brain to get a clearer picture of the impact of this devastating disease.  The family extends a very special thank you to those caregivers at Hatton Prairie Village, Pastor Bruce Vold, and Patrick of Bilden-Askew Funeral Home.

Survivors include children: Todd (Lois) Erickson, Casselton, ND; Tom (Ann) Erickson, Hatton, ND; Tara (Paul) Molling, Onalaska, WI; Tiffany (Corey) Moen, Mayville, ND; grandchildren: Shawn (Alyx) and Alissa; Ashley and Bradley; Taylor and Tristan; Ali and Andrew; great-grandchild Ames; sister-n-law, Renae (Roger) Gjellstad, Stanley, ND; nieces Robin Thomas and Rhonda Peterson, and nephew, Ryan Gjellstad and many other special aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her husband Lyle, her parents, and her sister Paula.

Family memorials can be directed to Hatton Prairie Village and the St. John Lutheran Church kitchen project.
