Gene Douglas Sutterlin

Gene Douglas Sutterlin, 68, of Hamilton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, NJ. Gene struggled his last year battling cancer. Born in Trenton, NJ, Gene was a graduate of Trenton Central High School. He went on to work for the Trane Company in Trenton and later enjoyed working construction. Gene loved to swim and with his strong swimming skills he served as a lifeguard when he was young. He was known for his funny dry humor personality and loved making others laugh. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, slot machine games, and the little things in life like watching old cowboy and sci-fi movies. Most importantly, Gene loved his family with all his heart, especially the time he spent with his grandson who always made him smile. Predeceased by his parents, Carl Daniel and Nannie Claude (McCullar) Sutterlin; his brother, Carl Sutterlin; his sister, Terry Sutterlin; and his nephew, Erick Carillon; he is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Jason and Sarah Sutterlin and Daniel Sutterlin; his daughter, Holly Sutterlin; his grandson, Jason Sutterlin, Jr.; his sister and brother-in-law, June and Douglas Carillon; his brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Janet Sutterlin; and his many nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. A Graveside Service and Interment will follow at Fountain Lawn Memorial Park in Ewing, NJ.
