<p>Patricia Everhart Reese, 84, of Taylorville Ill. passed away in the presence of her family on November 3, 2020 at 8:00 p.m.&nbsp;<br /> Patricia was born in Flora, Illinois on January 22, 1936. She was raised in Taylorville by her parents Edith and Ernest Everhart. She graduated from Taylorville High School in 1954 and attended college at University of Illinois and Illinois State University. She resided in Taylorville at 513 West Main Cross for the last 60 years.&nbsp;</p> <p>She is survivedby her husband Daniel G. Reese, to whom she was married for 64 years, and three children: son Lindsey E. Reese of Taylorville, and daughters Jill Tobin of Taylorville and Erin (Damon) Hofstrand of Rochester. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Gunder Reese, Michael Tobin, Anne Tobin, Reese Hofstrand, Neil Hofstrand, Troy Hofstrand and Clark Hofstrand.</p> <p>She was a school teacher with the Taylorville School District and a substitute teacher for a number of years. She sold real estate with Curvey Real Estate and later with McClure Realty. She was instrumental with the development of the Lincoln Land Literacy Program and taught at the Taylorville Correctional Center.</p> <p>She loved to travel. She visited Europe many times and did several VOSH mission trips to Africa and Poland. She loved dog sledding, skiing, and trips to Disney World. Reading was one of her favorite things, and in her free time, she loved garage sales. But most of all, she loved spending time with her seven grandchildren.</p> <p>She reigned as First Lady of Taylorville for 16 years and was president of the Republican County Chairwoman for over 25 years, opening her home for many fundraisers and events.&nbsp;</p> <p>She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was also active in DAR, Beta Sigma Phi and PEO and many other clubs and organizations. She was a Rainbow Girl and a member of the Eastern Star ot Taylorville. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends and at the Senior Center.</p> <p>A celebration of life will be held at a later date.&nbsp;</p>
