Mrs. Barbara Carter Earley Obituary

On Monday November 09, 2020 unexpectedly and without warning God plucked out the most beautiful flower in his garden here on Earth. Taking our beloved Barbara with him. Barbara Ann was born to the late Augustine and Gertrude Carter September 23, 1955.

She began her spiritual walk at a very early age starting with her mother who took her and her siblings to church. She actively attended United Bibleway Temple. Yet her spiritual  journey did not blossom until she became a member of FGKC under the teachings and guidance of Bishop Felton Hawkins.

Barbara was well loved by all who had the privilege to meet and know her. She always made you feel special. For those who were close to her she was known as Baby Ann a name her father affectionately gave her.  If nothing else she would always have a meal and a conversation for you.

Barbara was educated in Newport News Public Schools and graduated from Ferguson High School in 1973. She decided to further her education and attended Norfolk State University studying Early Childhood Education. At the time of her death she was employed as a  Community  Service Associate II for thirteen years on her way to retirement.
Barbara is proceeded in death by her parents Augustine and Gertrude Carter, a sister Selessteen Carter, and  two brothers Roger Graves and Thomas Graves.
