POWNAL Sandra Lee Burdick, 75, a resident of Barbs Way, Pownal, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 4, 2020 surrounded by her family. Born in Pittsfield, MA on July 6, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Madeline (Calkins) Kickery. She received her education in the Pittsfield schools. Sandra married Darius Burdick in Pittsfield on June 28, 1973. Darius died December 22, 1990. In earlier years she was employed as a waitress at the F. W. Woolworth Company in Bennington for several years and bartended. A devoted mother and grandmother, Sandra was “all about her family”. She also enjoyed playing Yahtzee and coloring. Survivors include six children, Madeline (Steve) Pratt of Bennington, Debbie Simmons of Bennington, Tammy (Joe) Galui of Salem, MA, Georgette (John) Sullivan of Pownal, Robert (Rebecca) Simmons of Bennington and Robin Willoughby and her fiancé, Jeff Pavia, of Bennington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Mayotte of North Carolina and Martha (Kevin) Cook of Arizona and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Sandra was predeceased by a grandson, Johnny Ellsworth. At Sandra’s request private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery.
