<p>Harold Gainey also known as &quot;Cullpepper&quot; was a man of few words, a strong hand, and a good heart.</p> <p>Harold was born on June 07, 1939 in Chesterfield County to the late Charlotte McClendon Hailey and Otis Gainey. He departed his life on November 6, 2020 at McLeod Health in Cheraw, SC.</p> <p>He attended the public schools of Chesterfield County. Harold was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Ernestine Baker Gainey. He then moved to Bennettsville, SC where he formed a loving bond with his extended family, raising Robert &quot;Snapper&quot; Allen as a son. Harold was a truck driver for Dixon Construction for several years and later retired.</p> <p>Harold was preceded in death by his daughter, Valerie Gainey; step-father, Son John Hailey; brothers, Arlene Hailey, Thomas Gary, Sunny Gainey, Ted Gainey, Artis Gainey, and Fred Brown; sisters, Essie Davis and Ella Mae Breedy; mother-in-law, Lillie Mae Baker.</p> <p>Harold leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Ernestine Gainey of the home; his daughter, Vicky Gainey (Gary) Simmons, raised as a son, Robert (Heather) Allen both of Bennettsville, SC; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Margie Gainey of Cheraw, SC and Ollie Bethea of Bennettsville, SC; two brothers-in-law, Alexander (Ann) Williams of Bennettsville, SC and Percy Breedy of Cheraw, SC; one special nephew, Bill Gainey; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
