Winnifred Elizabeth (Arnold) Lane, died Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, MD. Born March 29, 1919, in Woodman, KY, she was the daughter of the late Newton and Nita (Meadows) Arnold. Winnie married John Allen Lane on July 27, 1943 and spent many happy years living with him in Buckhannon, WV, until his death in 1996. Mrs. Lane was a long-time member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Buckhannon and belonged to the United Methodist Women Friendship Class and AARP. She spend her last years of her life at the Goodwill Mennonite Home, where she was affectionately known as Miss Winnie and cared for with great care and love. She is survived by her only son, Thomas Allen Lane and wife, Wendy, Confluence, PA; loving grandmother to Jason T. (Lisa) Lane, Hoschton, GA and Mindi Lane (Scott) Elliott, Marietta GA; dear great-grandmother to five; Dylan, Ty, Brady, Morgan and Leland. At her request, she will be cremated and a private family burial will take place where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved, John Allen Lane, at the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
