Frank R. Snyder
Frank R. Snyder, 72, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020 at his home. He was born in Fremont, Ohio on April 30, 1948, a son of the late Frank R., Sr. & Luella (Shull) Snyder. Frank was a graduate of Oak Harbor High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea and Vietnam, and was a member of American Legion Post #114, Oak Harbor. For many years, Frank was an employee of Gordon Lumber Company. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed fishing in Lake Erie and the Portage River. Frank was a tradesman and could fix anything from cars to plumbing and everything in between. He was a friend to everyone and never turned anyone away when they needed help. In his younger years, Frank was an avid horseman, and enjoyed riding with his friends and having fun competing. Although Frank had many interests, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. On March 8, 1991, Frank married the former Constance Brough, and she survives. Also surviving are his step children, Jennifer (Chris) Smith, and Jason (Angie) Lewis; grandchildren, Alexis Blank, Abigail Blank, Jacob Lewis, and Caleb Lewis; step-grandchildren, Kyler Smith, Dallin Smith, and Jessica (Caleb) Escue; siblings, Terry (Darlene) Snyder, Deb (Tim) Hepner, and Jim (Gloria) Snyder. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Russ (Kathy) Snyder, Connie Snyder, and Dick (Peg) Snyder. Private graveside services will be held at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, Military graveside rites will be conducted by the members of American Legion Post #114 and V.F.W.
