Obituary

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother Lola Elva Hatfield Rigby passed peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Nov. 5th surrounded my her loved ones.

Mom was born on May 8th, 1940 to Howard Hatfield and Agnus Eufemia Newman.   She was the 5th child of seven kids. She is proceeded in death by parents and her 5 sisters and one brother.    She is survived by her brother Ronald (Colleen) Hatfield of Springville Utah.

Mom met and married her eternal companion Donald “Dean” Rigby Jr. on March 6th, 1959 in Springville UT.   Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple on Nov. 8th, 2013.  Together they have a wonderful family of 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Mom’s kids and grandchildren loved to hear about her childhood. She was from a family of 9 in a 2 bedroom house, so there were plenty of stories to be heard. When mom would get together with her sisters they would always laugh. They all had what we have called over the years “The Hatfield Cackle”

Some of the items that brought Mom joy was to support her grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their school, sports and anything they participated in.  Mom loved to go to Mesquite to play BINGO, a trip which her daughters and granddaughters would love to join in.  Once a year there was always a trip planned and mom couldn’t wait to go, she usually always came out the winner.  Mom had a creative side and loved to craft.  She made many of dip and drape dolls, chocolates during the Holidays that were loved by all.

Mom is survived by her eternal companion Dean Rigby, her three children; Terri (Kevin) Grace, Lorri (Kurt) Steadman, Brad (Ranae) Rigby all of Lehi UT, 10 Grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, many great nieces, nephews and In-Laws.
