Douglas Lamoine Cunningham

DOUGLAS LAMOINE CUNNINGHAM, age 71 years, of Jackson, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson. He was born on March 17, 1949, in Hudson, the son of Wayne E. and Marjorie L. (Bailey) Cunningham. Doug graduated from Hudson High School in 1967. He earned a BA in Biology from Oakland University. Doug owned and operated Meagher’s Jewelers in Jackson for over 35 years. He was very active volunteer in the Jackson community serving on the Hot Air Balloon Jubilee Committee, Lions Club Member and recipient of the Lions Foundation Melvin Jones award. He was a member of the F&AM Horton Lodge 293. Doug is survived by two brothers, G. Thomas (Linda Carroll) Cunningham of Howell and Gilbert (Stacey) Blanks of Jackson, a sister, Sara (James) Hazen of Raleigh, North Carolina, four nieces and nephews, Kendall (Jay Paulsen) Cunningham, Todd (Carrie) Cunningham, Sara (Bernie) Fails and Avery (Megan) Blanks, four great-nieces and great-nephews, Jack, Madison and Nathan Paulsen and Sophia Fails. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Cunningham, Marjorie Cunningham-Blanks and Charles Blanks. Private Family Funeral Services for Doug were held at noon Saturday, November 7, 2020, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Wesley Rowan officiating. Burial followed at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hudson. Memorials are suggested to your local Lions Club.
