Mr. Anthony "Hook" Bowman
<p>God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be. So He wrapped his arms around you, and whispered, "Come to me".</p> <p> </p> <p>On Wednesday November 4, 2020, God called Anthony Jerome Bowman home to eternal rest, free from pain and cares of the world at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Virginia. Anthony was born on March 24, 1958, to the late Delois Jean and Will Roger Bowman Sr. in Newport News Va. "Hook" as he was affectionally called attended Newport News Public Schools.</p> <p> </p> <p>Hook in spite of all the obstacles that he faced had a heart of gold and would do anything that he could do to help anyone. He was very funny and had a keen sense of humor. Hook loved to cook and prepared meals for his friend everyday. He loved all sports and enjoyed watching them on tv. He was very good at boxing in his younger days.</p> <p> </p> <p>Hook was preceded in death by his mother, Delois Jean Bowman, father Will Roger Bowman Sr., brother Will Roger Bowman Jr., sister Deborah J. Bowman, his grandmothers, grandfathers and nephew Ralph M. Bowman Jr. Left to cherish his loving memory, his dedicated friend, Janice Bullock, his sisters, Janice (George) Bowman-Larrimore, Judy (Ronald) Bowman-Dillard, Jackie Bowman, and God-sister, Terry (Willie) Gatling, his brothers, Ronnie and Ralph Bowman, one aunt Mary Bowman and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. </p> <p> </p> <p>Viewing for Mr. Bowman will be held from 1:00p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home. Inc. </p> <p> </p> <p>A Graveside service for Mr. Bowman will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Hampton Memorial Gardens by Dr. Christopher C.
