Alfred J. LaRoche, Sr., 87, of Hope Valley, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020. He was the loving husband of Sherry Lee (Gardiner) LaRoche. One of 14 children, he was born on September 18, 1933 in Franklin, NH, to the late Albert and Doria (Labrie) LaRoche.

Alfred was a hardworking and dedicated supervisor for the Ladd Center for over 25 years. He was proud of being able to provide for his family and dedicated himself to working as much as he could. He was a faithful man and active member of St. Joseph’s Church in Hope Valley. When he did have some free time, music was the focus and he was a talented musician being able to play the guitar, piano, harmonica and spoons. He also had a wonderful singing voice and enjoyed entertaining the guests at the Wood River Inn along with being a member of the band “The Outhouse Trio”. He also loved to play horseshoes. He enjoyed his life and his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Besides his loving wife Sherry, he leaves his sons Danny Gardiner and wife Samantha, Alfred J. LaRoche, Jr. and Brian LaRoche and his wife Kim; his grandchildren DJ, James and Cody; a sister Cecile Johnson along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 12 of his siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 11am at St. Joseph’s Church, 1105 Main St., Hope Valley. All are invited to meet directly at the church. Seating capacity limits are at 50 in the church, social distancing guidelines and other public health directives (i.e. use of facemasks are required) will be in place. Burial will be private at Wood River Cemetery, Richmond.
