THOMASTON - Herbert Chester Munroe, Jr. died October 28, 2020 at the Sussman House in Rockport Maine. He was born in Waterboro Maine on June 23, 1935. Herbie lived in New Hampshire for many years before moving to Maine. He has lived in Thomaston, Maine in the past years. Herbie was well known to many as a man who would do whatever he could for others. He was a simple man who loved sitting by the docks in Thomaston everyday for prayer time. He was active member of AA for many years and loved Jesus Christ His Lord and Savior. His favorite times were spent with his family either visiting or talking on the phone. He is predeceased by his parents Herbert C. Monroe, Sr. mother, Alice Jenny Monroe and wife Derie Munroe. He is survived by his daughter Debbie Place and husband Joe Place, Epping, NH, daughter Cheryl Phillips her husband Ron of Culpepper, Va. Daughter, Heidi Rayeski, Portsmouth NH, daughter, Rebecca Gatcomb and husband Jim, daughter, Kelly Munroe, Biddeford, Maine, and son Keith Rayeski and his wife Gina of Milton, NH. His brother, Roger Monroe and wife Rosalee, North Hampton, NH; sisters; Patricia Manning and husband Ronald, Dover, NH Judy Batchelder and husband Chet, Nottingham, NH, Joyce Goeppner and her husband Randy, North Carolina. Numerous, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A graveside service held on November 6, 2020 at 1:00 PM, at the Litchfield Plains Cemetery, Plains Road, Litchfield, Maine. Arrangements are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
