View Donna's Service Folder Donna “Chubby” “Peanut” Black Moon, 55, of Eagle Butte, entered the spirit world, Saturday, October 17, 2020 at her home in Eagle Butte surrounded by loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her very much. In compliance with the CRST Tribal Directives, a private family service will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020, with burial to follow at Frazier Memorial Cemetery at Red Scaffold. Donna Lynn Black Moon was born February 17, 1965 in Orange, California to Alvina Iron Hawk and Gabe Black Moon Sr. She is one of eight children: Launa, Dody, Jody, Traci, and Erica (the Caboose), Gabe and Justin. Donna attended school in Red Scaffold, Chamberlain, and then went into the Job Corps in 1984 at Anaconda, MT to become a brick layer. In 1993 Donna met and married Royce Noisy Hawk Sr. From this union two boys were born, Royce Jr. “RJ” and Trent Noisy Hawk. She also adopted and raised a baby girl, Dawnelle Black Moon. Donna enjoyed church, crocheting, sewing, cooking, listening to a variety of music, reading, and watching TV! She also loved taking care of her cats that she called her babies. Donna enjoyed everyone’s company who came. She liked to hear what was new and what was going on. She was also grateful for the company and the help that Yamini Harden and his mother, Amelia Curley, provided for her. Those left to mourn her passing include her sons: Royce Jr. (Brittney) and Trent Noisy Hawk, both of Eagle Butte; daughter, Dawnelle (Lucas) Black Moon, Eagle Butte; mother, Alvina Iron Hawk, Eagle Butte; sisters: Launa Black Moon, Eagle Butte, Dody Black Moon, Eagle Butte, Jody Black Moon, Fort Yates, ND, and Erica (Arden) Black Moon, Eagle Butte; brothers: Gabe Black Moon and Justin Iron Hawk, both of Eagle Butte; auntie, Barbara Iron Hawk, Bismarck, ND; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren, too extensive to list. Donna was preceded in death by her grandparents: Wilson and Margie Iron Hawk; father, Gabe Black Moon Sr.; sister, Traci Iron Hawk; uncles: Haskell, Otto, Roe, Wayne, and Seborn Iron Hawk; along with other extended family.
