It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Gaston Bélanger on Wednesday October 28, 2020 at Temiskaming Hospital, Temiskaming Shores. Mr. Gaston Bélanger, 77 years old, left us too soon due to health complications. He left to join his kind son-in-law Jason, his father, his mother, his brothers and sisters.

Born in Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Quebec, on June 30, 1943, he is the son of the late Phillip Bélanger and the late Bernadette Bélanger (Grignon). He is survived by his beloved wife Jacynte Bélanger (Barrette) his cherished children: Shirley Ducharme (Jacques), Steve Bélanger (Lynn), Nancy Sutton (late Jason) and Danny Bélanger (Nancy); his adored grandchildren: Michelle Dufresne (Kevin), Jérémie Ducharme (Kelsey), Karine Ducharme (Luc), Brandon Bélanger (Valerie), Jenna Bélanger, Jonathan Sutton (Ness), Jordan Sutton (Emily), Sierra Sutton, Emma Bélanger (Jérémy) and Natalie Bélanger; his beloved great grandchildren: Gracie, Lucas, Olivia Ducharme, Malia, Marley Dufresne, and Summer Bergeron. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters (he is the 10th of 16 children), as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Gaston / Pépère Bélanger was a devoted family man, a hard worker (proud founder and owner of G. Bélanger Construction) and a helpful and simple man who found comfort and serenity surrounded by his family. His greatest pride was his wife of 56 years of marriage, his children, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. He managed to forge a meaningful bond with each of them. Many will also remember his big heart, his jokes, and his smile. He was a man of love, faith, comfort and strength.

Mr. Gaston Bélanger's family will receive relatives and friends at the Ste-Croix Church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday, October 31, 2020. COVID STANDARDS MUST BE ADHERED. MASKS MUST BE WORN. A private memorial service for family only will follow.
