Rita M. (Zajonz) Screti, 92 years of age, of Peabody, formerly of Lynnfield passed away peacefully on October 27, 2020.

Born in, Poland on March 20, 1928, Rita was the cherished Daughter of the late Francesca and Emmanuel Zajonz. Devoted wife of the late Domenic F. Screti, with whom she met during WWII and spent 50 years of marriage. She was a Red Sox fan, enjoyed horse racing, bingo and most of all time with her granddaughters.

Loving mother of John and Ronald, both of Peabody, and Renee Lawton of Wakefield, NH. Adored grandmother of Jeana Guarino of Tewksbury, Erica Lawton of Salem, MA and Alexandra Lawton of Peabody. Rita also leaves behind her brother Bernhard and his wife Emmi, brother Norbert, sisters Alice and Marion, all of Germany as well as many cousins,nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet at Vazza’s Beechwood Funeral Home, 262 Beach St., Revere on Tuesday, November 3, at 10A.M. followed by a Graveside Service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett at 10:30A.M.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Rita’s name to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl. Memphis TN 38105.

All services will be held in accordance with Phase-3 of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts phased reopening plan due to COVID-19. Face coverings are required to be worn and social distancing measures are encouraged.
