Mary Lou Harper, 68, of Checotah, passed away on October 26, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mary was born on May 15, 1952 in Porum, Oklahoma to Clinton Dewitt and Sybil Anna (Carson) Brown. On May 23, 1973, she married David Harper in Checotah. They were happily married for twenty-two years before he preceded her in death on December 10, 1995. Mary worked as a homemaker and sold Avon and Tupperware. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her children: Christine Ann O'Brien, of Coweta; David J. Harper, Jr., of Alabama; Davidea Lynn Stevenson and Sybil Carlina Swepston, both of Eufaula; grandchildren: Devin Lee O'Brien, Patrick Michael O'Brien, Johnathon Ian Harper, Destiny Lee O'Brien, MaKayla Lynn Stevenson, Meaghan Michelle Harper, Ryan Wade Swepston, Jr., Lucas Gabriel Bean, Jayden Levi Swepston, Serafine Carlina Swepston and Peyton Marie Swepston; her great grandchildren, Dwain Young and Travis Levi Murphy; brothers, Dewitt Brown of Muskogee, John Brown, David Brown, and James Brown all of Porum; sisters, Peggy Anderson of Porum and Eva McBride of Texanna Road. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David Harper and sisters-in-law, Sherry Brown and Darlene Brown.
