Laurie Lynne Orr, 60, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born January 18, 1960, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Viola Rosemarie (Struempf) Johnson. Laurie was a 1978 graduate of Helias High School and received an Associates Degree in Nursing from Lincoln University. She was united in marriage on May 2, 1981, in Jefferson City to Wade Allen Orr who survives at the home. Laurie worked as a Registered Nurse for Memorial Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, and Allergy & Asthma Consultants. She attended Concord Baptist Church. Laurie was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. Whether supporting her family through difficulties or passions, she made it her mission to be there for them, often putting herself last. She enjoyed being active in her children’s activities. She was Cub Scout master and earned the Order Of The Arrow in Boy Scouts. She enjoyed watching her children growing up playing sports and traveled all over to support the three of them, sometimes on the same day in different locations. She loved spending time with her different rescue dogs over the years and her newest rescue, Pinky. She was known to her friends as a sweet, gentle, caring soul and someone who could rouse up a good laugh. She had several hobbies that filled her free time including painting, crocheting, reading, crafting and DIY projects. Survivors include her husband, Wade; three children, Josh Orr; Jennifer (Kyle) Doll; and Joe (Kaitlynn) Orr, all of Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Nathan Doll, Leah Doll, Parker Orr, Bradley Orr and a new baby due in May; and one brother, Robert (Deanna) Johnson, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
