<p>William D. Newsome, 75, of Dingess, WV, departed this life on October 27, 2020 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.</p> <p>He was born September 14, 1945 in Myrtle, WV, the son of the late Grover Dillon and Rebecca Newsome Dillon.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Marcum, brothers, Terry and JC Dillon and his in-laws, Acie and Annie Marcum.</p> <p>William enjoyed Bluegrass gospel music, hunting and digging ginseng.</p> <p>Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Birdie Newsome; four daughters, Patty (Josh) Marcum, Molly Newsome, Megan Newsome and Morgan Newsome; sons, Billy (Mary) Newsome, Acie Newsome and James Acie Newsome; one sister, Sandra (Bill) Bush; one brother, Larry (Pat) Dillon; five grandchildren, Sydney Marcum, Summer Conley, Kylie Conley, Kayle Hopper and Marlena Kirk; and one great-grandchild, Johana Kirk.</p> <p>Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church at Dingess with Darrell Newsome and David McCloud officiating. Burial will follow at Sturgell Cemetery, Laurel Park Road, Lenore, WV.</p> <p>Visitation will be on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the church.</p> <p>Pallbearers will be Tyler Blackburn, Josh Vance, Brad Dillon, AJ Brewer, and Zac McDonald.</p> <p>Honorary pallbearer will be Wayne McDonald.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Freeman Funeral Home to help with the arrangements.</p> <p>Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.</p>Obituary
