Daniel J. Ripoli Obituary

Daniel J. Ripoli, 94, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Golden Living Center. Daniel was born on August 28, 1926 in Elkhart to Leonard and Clara (Minelli) Ripoli.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosemary and two sons Daniel Ripoli, Thomas J. “Tom” Ripoli; sister Rose Hannon and brother Joseph.

He has outlived his family, but is fondly remembered by friends, church friends, neighbors and caregivers Dan and Millie Shaw.

Daniel was a longtime member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was a self-employed insurance agent, practicing in the Elkhart area for many years before he retired.

Daniel was very patriot, and served with honor in the U.S Army during WWII from 1944 until 1946 with Company C 19th. Infantry. He received the following decorations, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 1 Bronze Battle Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze battle Star, Victory and Good Conduct Medal and Philippine Independence Ribbon.

Graveside services for Daniel with military honors by the U.S Army Funeral Honor Guard, Elkhart DAV#19 and the Indiana Patriot Guard  will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, at St. Vincent Cemetery. Father Bob Van Kempen will officiate.

Arrangements are under the care of Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart.
