Wallace P. Silverthorn

Wallace P. Silverthorn, age 88, of McHenry, passed away May 23, 2017 in Florida surrounded by his loving family. He was born, January 4, 1929 in Niagara Falls, New York to Wallace E. and Pearl (Golds) Silverthorn. Wallace was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving for six years. During his time in the service he met his future wife Virginia Mielczarek at a Roller Rink. They were married in Chicago on November 25, 1950. After serving in the Navy, Wallace was employed as an engineer for Kux Machines in Des Plaines. Wally was a loving dad, doting grandpa and great grandpa. He was a jack of all trades, maintaining his yard and dabbling in mechanics. In his free time Wally enjoyed bowling, fishing and golfing. He is survived by his children, Dennis (Nancy) Beran, Sandy (Gary) Sibilsky, Sharon (Luis) Rivera; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia on February 20, 2010; a son, Gerald Beran and a daughter, Cynthia Karr. Graveside prayers will be said at 1 PM on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Ringwood Cemetery, Ringwood, IL. For additional information, please call the funeral home at 815-675-0550.
