Robert L. Fuqua

Robert Lloyd Fuqua, 85, of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at his residence. He was retired after a long career of farming and trucking. He was born March 18, 1935, in Paris, the son of the late Clarence M. and Madge L. (Chrisman) Fuqua. He married Sue Rennick on March 29, 1965, in Terre Haute, Indiana, and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Rob (Melinda) Fuqua of Paris and Dirk (Angela) Fuqua of Batavia, Illinois; a sister, Mary Catherine Couchman of Terre Haute, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Kali Fuqua (Scott Martin) and Kelsey Fuqua (Benjamin Mihalko) both of Paris, Brookelyn (Kevin) Knepp of Montgomery, Indiana, Brian Graber of Paris, Brayton Graber of Montgomery, Bryce Graber of Paris, Kyndal Fuqua of Paris, and Danae, Tyler, and Jordan Fuqua all of Batavia; and two great-grandchildren, Matilda Martin and Robert Mihalko. Mr. Fuqua was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, Stratton Lodge #408 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, AASR Valley of Danville, Ansar Shrine Temple, and a member and past president of Edgar County Shrine Club. Bob loved spending time with his family and supporting them in all their activities. He spent many years as a proud member of his son’s auto racing “pit crew,” and also loved raising and showing horses. For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Edgar County Shrine Club. SERVICE INFORMATION Private graveside services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2020, at New Providence Cemetery with Bro. Gerald Montgomery officiating. The eulogy was given by Bill Minnis, and burial followed. Templeton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
