<p><br /> Michael T. Short, 77, of Eatontown, passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2020 with his loving wife by his side. Michael was born in Philadelphia, PA to Thomas and Philomena (Forchetti) Short.<br /> Michael earned his bachelor&rsquo;s degree in History from LaSalle University. In addition, he served in the National Guard.<br /> He was very proud of his position as Purchasing Manager for NJ Highway Authority where he was employed for 25 years before retiring February 1, 1999.<br /> He was a communicant of St. Dorothea&rsquo;s Roman Catholic Church in Eatontown.<br /> His passions included anything related to history, specifically Gettysburg as he visited there often. He also loved Notre Dame Football, Philadelphia Flyers Hockey, and was an avid reader.<br /> He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Thomas and his sister, Jane Daniels.<br /> Surviving him is his wife of 28 years, Diane Miller Short, his children; Diane (Mark) Cugliari of Eatontown, Debra Joseph (William Williams) of Highlands, Nancy (Ray) Kaari, Greg Short and fianc&eacute; Jessica and Amy (Dominick) Casais, all of Toms River, grandchildren; Kayla, Mackenzie, Grace, Giavanna, Devyn, Cameron, Ezekiel and Mason, as well as, several cousins.<br /> A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7th, 10:30am at St. Dorothea&rsquo;s Roman Catholic Church in Eatontown. MASKS ARE REQUIRED. A celebration of Michael&rsquo;s life and luncheon will be planned after the COVID crisis subsides.<br /> In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael&rsquo;s name to The Gettysburg Foundation, 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Please specify that the donation is in memory of Michael Short.<br /> The family wishes to thank Dr. Stephen Windsor and his staff and the wonderful nurses in the infusion department of RVMC who were so good to Michael. Also, thank you to the Hackensack Meridian Health Hospice for their kindness and care, especially Renee Harris. A special thank you also to Dr. Robert Gialanella.</p>

Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in History from LaSalle University. In addition, he served in the National Guard.
