Robert (Bob) Oberle, 82, passed away peacefully on October 26th at the Fort Walton Beach Rehabilitation Center in Florida.

Born in Brooklyn, and raised in Valley Stream, New York, Robert attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. A true salesman at heart, Bob took a different path and established a successful distributorship for Zee Medical supplies in Western New England. He and his wife, Barbara, settled in Agawam, Massachusetts, raised three sons, and were active members of their church and community.

Bob and Barbara led an adventurous and faith-filled life, and were well known for their generosity and servant lifestyle. Bob was often the first to offer a place to stay or financial help to those who needed it. In later years, Bob and Barbara moved to several different states and to Zimbabwe, Africa, to serve others. In 2017, Bob and Barbara moved to Shalimar, Florida to live with their eldest son, Steve and his family.

Bob made a big impact wherever he went, and is fondly remembered by many for his ‘out of the box’ ideas, generous spirit, hearty laughter, and for constantly asking people to pray with him.

Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara; his son Steven and wife, Andrea, of Shalimar, Florida, and their sons, Grant and Bennett; his son, Dan and wife, Michelle, of New Britain, CT; and his son, Mark and wife Angelica, of Windsor, CT and their children Austin and Hannah.

No services are planned at this time. The family will hold a celebration of Bob’s life in 2021.
