Mattie Carol Taylor, 68, of Sutton, went Home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2020. She passed in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gem, WV, on January 23, 1952, a daughter of the late Woodrow Willard Brown and Lelah Maude Singleton. In addition to her parents, Mattie was preceded in death by two infant stillborn sons; first husband, Charles Harper; one infant sister, Mary Ellen Singleton; and three siblings: Veon Singleton, Sharon William, and Dorothy Adams. Mattie is survived by her husband of 28.5 years, James “Jimmy” Taylor of Sutton; one son, Jackie Lee Mollohan Jr. and wife, Ashley, of Jane Lew; two grandchildren: Avah Marie Mollohan and Kendall Noelle Mollohan; one brother, Tracy Leon Singleton and wife, Sherry, of Buckhannon; three sisters: Peggy Hartman of Gassaway, Linda Spencer and husband, Don, of Newfane, NY, and Treva Racette and husband, Johnny, of Wilson, NY; one sister-in-law, Gene Singleton of Orlando, WV; one brother-in-law, J.P. Williams of Burnsville; and several nieces and nephews. Mattie was a born again Christian whose faith was strong and she attended the Sand Fork Church of God Prophecy. She adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. Mattie’s request for cremation has been honored at Pat Boyle Funeral Home’s On-Site Crematory. A Graveside Service for friends and family will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Burnsville at 12 p.m. Noon on Saturday, October 31, 2020 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating.
