Alvie Griffis

Alvie D. Griffis passed away peaceably with his daughter at his side on October 25, 2020 in the Villages of Westerville in Westerville, Ohio. He was born September 7,1936 in Raiford, Florida. He was the son of Robert and Cassie Viola Manning Griffis. Surviving him is his son, John Robert Griffis and wife Kerry McGaughey, of Uniontown Pa. and daughter, Catherine Collins and husband Darren Homorody, of Columbus Ohio. His sister Dorothy Lindsey of St. Petersburg Florida survives him along with many neices and nephews. He was a machinist by trade and very handy with fixing anything. He loved bird watching and playing slot machines for fun. One of his favorite pass times was talking. He loved to talk and could talk for hours. There was never a dull moment with him around. His wife Janice D. Wadsworth Griffis predeceased him. Al was the primary caregiver for his wife for 40 years. He never complained or waivered with his devotion to her. He is now reunited with the love of his life. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be at a later date due to Covid.
