Sarah E. Zahm Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan Obituary

Sarah E. Zahm

Sarah Elizabeth Zahm, age 37, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Sarah was born on September 29, 1983, in Superior Township, Michigan. She was predeceased by her father Thomas Zahm, her paternal grandparents Clarence (Josie) Zahm, and her maternal grandparents Warren Joseph (Sharon) Pollard. She is survived by her beloved children Fynn (11) and Ronan (10), her mother Lynda (Deb) Pollard-Baker, her sister Emily (Kevin) Walker, her nephews Ford and Wills, Aunts and Uncles, and numerous cousins and extended family. Sarah was truly one of a kind, with a sharp wit and movie quote on the tip of her tongue for every situation. Working in customer service for much of her life, she brightened the days of her coworkers and customers alike, including at the Murphy USA in Prudenville, Michigan, The Home Depot in Prudenville, Michigan, and The Home Depot in Roseville, Michigan, where she was very proud of her recent promotion to head cashier. She loved animals and had a variety of pets over the years, including dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, rats, and ferrets. She frequently rescued creatures in peril and saw them safely to rehab centers. Sarah was also a wonderful cook, artist, seamstress, and gardener. She was an avid reader and was rarely without a book at arm’s reach. She and her sons spent much of their free time with her sister and nephews, attending Comic-Cons and other events. They were yearly visitors to the Renaissance Festival, where Sarah showed off her homemade wardrobe creations and love of wigs. Sarah's sons were the center of her world and everything that she did was with their best interests in mind. She took them on trips to museums and zoos, made craft projects, had dance parties, and managed their home schooling. Her passing has left her entire family and network of friends brokenhearted. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods, with a short celebration of life at 6:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. In lieu of flowers, consider donation to the Rainforest Action Network as they work towards ending the use of Conflict Palm Oil, a cause that Sarah was passionate about: https://www.ran.org/issue/palm_oil/
