Vernon Coy Christensen Obituary

Vernon Coy “Coke” Christensen, age 57, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away October 25, 2020, at the Uintah Basin Medical Center in Roosevelt.
He was born November 4, 1962, in Vernal, to Vernon “Bun” Christensen and Rose Marie Martin.  He married Luella Brock, and they later divorced.  He married Tracey Chapoose, and they later divorced.
Coke was an all around handy man and jack-of-all-trades: he could fix a car, worked as a rig hand, was a laborer for the Ute Tribe Housing and various other jobs.  He always helped anyone who asked for help and was a right hand man for Benji Murray.  Coke was a good cook – especially bread – and was always a jokester.  He loved being with all of his grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  He tried to make it so no one ever needed to worry about him.
Coke is survived by his children, Shauna Traphagan, of Wyoming; Patrick & Charlie Christensen, Ft. Duchesne; 8 grandchildren; siblings, Jens Christensen, Vernal; Rena (Gab) Chivers, Whiterocks; Pam Christensen, Vernal; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by a son, Skyler Drew Christensen; a sister, Francine Arrowchis; and a niece, Cinder Marie Chivers.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at the Reed Cemetery in Farm Creek.
