Fernando “Jr” Macias, Jr., 36, a resident of the Banks community, died Friday, October 23, 2020 at the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Matthew Catholic Church, 475 S.E. 3rd Avenue in Hillsboro, with Fr. Rito Guzman, celebrant. Rite of Christian Burial will follow at the St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery, 3355 S.E. Rood Bridge Road in Hillsboro. FERNANDO MACIAS, JR. was born July 22, 1984 in Hillsboro, Oregon, the son of Fernando Macias, Sr. and Rafaela Medina. He was raised and received his education in the Hillsboro community, having been a graduate of Glencoe High School Class of 2002. He was united in marriage to Veronica Chavez on February 14, 2016 in Hillsboro, Oregon. They celebrated their 4th Wedding Anniversary this past February. Following their marriage, they created a beautiful life together, raising their four amazing children, Mekachu, Nando, Butters, and his Tutu. Jr. was currently working for Trimet Transit Services in Hillsboro, in maintenance for several years. His hard work, his hustle and dedication were always for his family. He was a member of St. Matthew Parish in Hillsboro. Among his special interests, Jr. enjoyed being the life of the party, making people feel loved and cared for instantly, always living in the moment surrounded by his loved ones enjoying good food, good company and a story or two of his wild adventurous life. He was unapologetically himself and always stayed true to himself, keeping the good times going. Would often say “When the big man comes knocking, I know I can say, it’s been one hell of a ride.” Survivors include his wife, Veronica Chavez Macias; his four children, Mekyla Wallace-Macias; Fernando “Nando” Wallace-Macias, III.; Cortez Gamboa and Natalia Macias; their family dog Santos; his parents, Fernando Macias, Sr. and Rafaela Medina; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Melina Macias; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jayme Macias and Jose Garfias; Rosaura Macias and Jose Rodriguez; Rita Macias and Felix Mendoza; his In-Laws, Jose and Lucina Chavez and several nieces, nephews, Godson, aunts, uncles and cousins.
