Desley Artis Walker

Desley Artis Walker, age 94, of Hays, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at his home. Desley was born November 30, 1925 in Wilkes County to James Harrison and Myra Huie Walker. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and the owner of Walker’s Grocery. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and four sisters. Desley is survived by his wife, Grace Dean Walker of Hays; daughter, Penny Snodgrass and spouse David of Hays; son, Artie Walker and spouse Julie of Hays; grandchildren, Sara Levchuk and spouse Matthew of Moravian Falls, Maria Walker and Jake Walker both of Hays; great granddaughter, Lucy Levchuk of Moravian Falls; and sister, Nettie Brooks of Hays. Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Steven Shumate officiating. Flowers will be accepted. Memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice, 688 North Bridge Street, Elkin, NC 28621. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be made to www.millerfuneralservice.com
