William “Bill” J. Wirt, 87, of Harrisburg, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his home.
He was born in Halifax Township on April 7, 1933 to the late Catherine (Gabriel) Weirich.
Bill was a Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a life time member of the Harrisburg Archery Club and a member of the American Legion Post #1001. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting and going to the casinos.
He is preceded in death by wife, Shirley I. (Turns) Wirt.
Surviving are his son, Clarence Hartz and his wife, Janet of Millerstown; his daughter, Marjorie Earnest of Elliottsburg; sister, Ethel Granger of Middletown; two grandsons, Brian Sheesley, Eddie Hartz and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 11 A.M. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. Keith Blank officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, 1117 Country Club Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
