Lavern E. Podevels
Lavern E. Podevels, age 89, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Tomahawk Health Services in Tomahawk. Lavern was born in Colby, WI, on May 18, 1931, to the late Eugene and Anna (Sellung) Podevels. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Lavern was married to Audrey (Recore) Podevels on December 30, 1964; she passed away on May 30, 2016. They had shared 52 wonderful years of marriage together. Lavern was a family man and chose to be a father to seven children. He worked as a security guard for American Motors/Chrysler Corporation for many years. Lavern had a passion for nature and being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and watching the wildlife in his backyard. Lavern was a wonderful man and will be forever loved and dearly missed. Survivors include his son, Charles (Rebecca Giessel) Ludwig; 6 daughters, Susan Beam, Lynn Christiansen, Vicki (George) Fecker, Karen Ludwig, Laurie Anderson, and Darlene (Dennis) Firkus; 2 sisters, Marie Dalhke, and Margie Manecke; and his brother-in-law, Edward Kaisershot. Lavern is further survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Anna; his sister, Erma Kaisershot; and his son-in-laws, Elroy Christiansen and Michael Beam; and his brother-in-laws, Bernard and Orville. Private family services will be held for Lavern Podevels. Burial will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in the Town of Bradley.May 18, 1931 - October 24, 202005/18/193110/24/2020
