Anna Faye Johnson (Creech) was born on May 29, 1934 in Pine Ridge, Kentucky and
passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Stanford Lodge Foster Care in Plainwell, Michigan,
with her family by her side.
Anna Faye’s family moved to Bloomingdale, Michigan from Pine Ridge, Kentucky, when
she was only 6 years old. Her father came to work in the oil fields during the oil boom.
She was a member of the Bloomingdale United Methodist Church for many years and
taught Sunday school there for over 50 years, she had a special love for children and especially
loved teaching the little ones. She took part in the Ladies ministry, sang in the church choir and
helped with Kid Sing.
She was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it be making her famous fudge
and/or homemade donuts for bake sales or driving elderly family and neighbors around to
appointments or grocery shopping. She loved being a room mother for her children's class
rooms.
One of the things she was very proud of was that she worked at the Paw Paw Goodwill.
She was promoted to co-manager after a few years and was well loved by all of the customers.
The thing that always stood out about Anna Faye was her smile and always being happy.
She had that beautiful smile until the very end. She always had a great attitude and her love of
God was strong.
Anna Faye loved her family unconditionally and was so proud of all of them. She would
do anything for those she loved, and there were so many.
On December 8, 1951 Anna Faye married Ralph (Stub) Johnson, he was the love of her
life. Proverbs 31 verses 10-31 talks about the virtuous woman. She was all of those things that
God expects a woman to be... She was noble in character, her husband had confidence in her,
she bought him good and no harm all the days of her life, she worked with eager hands, she
provided food for her family, planted a garden, she sewed, gave to the needy, her husband was
respected, she worked, she was clothed with dignity, she wasn't idle and her husband, children
and grandchildren called her blessed. She feared the Lord and her works were praised by
others.
Anna Faye was proceeded in death by her parents, Noah Creech and Elnora Creech
Henry, her identical twin Dorothy Rae, age 3, two brothers, Stanley and Charlie Creech, two
sisters, Alma Ordiway and Margie Johnson and granddaughter, Corinne Smith.
Anna Faye is survived by her husband Ralph (Stub) Johnson of Bloomingdale, Children;
Peggy (Everett) Gaines, David (Shelly) Johnson and Laurel (Thomas) Smith all of Bloomingdale, and siblings are Betty Cherette of Galesburg, Michigan and Paul Creech of South Bend, Indiana.
