With solemn thoughts and tender hearts of love, R. H. Greene Funeral Home stands with the family of Mrs. Carrie Person Smith, age 83 of Wise, North Carolina as they prepare to say farewell.  Mrs. Smith entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 25, 2020 in Henderson, North Carolina. 

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the North Warren High School Gymnasium in Wise, North Carolina.  Bishop Alphonso Smith will officiate and interment will follow in the New Providence Christian Missionary Baptist Church in Wise, North Carolina.

Mrs. Smith is survived by:  three daughters, Altena Montague (Harold) of Henderson, North Carolina, Regina Smith and Phyllis Smith (Willie), both of Norlina, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Ashlee Montague and April Alston (Alzee); four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Juanita Person of Wise, North Carolina; seven sisters-in-law, Mae Holland of Baltimore, Maryland, Kate Dixon of Owings Mills, Maryland, Henrietta Smith of Washington, D.C., Hattie Person of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ella Mae Smith of Norlina, North Carolina, Arlene Smith of Richmond, Virginia and Minnie Smith of Bowie, Maryland; one brother-in-law, James Smith, Sr. of Bowie, Maryland; two special cousins, Claiborne Barnes and Lynell Milam, both of Baltimore, Maryland; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Smith will lie in repose on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors and friends at the home of Phyllis Smith, 122 Old Wise School Extension Road, Warrenton, North Carolina.
