Darlene is survived by her mother, Mary Forsythe, her husband, Jeffery Shiffler, their three children, Kristopher, Khristian, and Khristina, her sisters, Mary Jo Clark and Shey Hines, her brother, Stephen Forsythe, her 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces whom all loved and adored her. She then continued with her education at Mansfield College in Nursing Technologies in South Carolina and went on to complete her studies as a Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) at Everest College in Bremerton, Washington. Darlene then spent her career as a medical professional as well as being a wonderful homemaker to her family for 30 plus years. Darlene also volunteered at the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma and was an avid member of the American Association of Medical Assistants as well as a member of the Tacoma Women’s Sailing Association. She loved to sail. Having the salty ocean air all around her was one of her life’s greatest pleasures. She loved the ocean and everything about the beach. Darlene was also a diehard Seahawks fan. She never missed a game or an opportunity to shout at the TV cheering for her home team. Darlene enjoyed many things during her life on this earth. Things such as Jeeps, travelling, decorating her home, being with her dog, Shelby, Reality TV shows, candy, shopping, and Starbucks. But the things Darlene loved most about this life was spending time with all her family, children, and grandchildren. Her family was her life. She cared immensely for her daughter, Khristina, and was always there for her in every way. She loved doting on them in all ways. She loved the holidays because it meant they were all together. Darlene was known for her spectacular sense of humor and her ability to find all the funny things in life. Her love for her family was brighter than any star in the sky, you could see it in her eyes every time she looked at you. Darlene will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We know that her spirit lives on in the lives of those who will always love and remember her for the beautiful person she is. A private service will be held at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton.
