It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the sudden passing of our beloved Ernie on October 15, 2020 at the age of 77 years. George Ernest ‘Ernie’ Roper was born on June 16, 1943 in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton, NS. Ernie was loved by many, and will be deeply missed, especially by his sisters Marguerite, Gloria and Cindy, who describe him as their rock. Ernie was always there for them, with a helping hand, a caring heart but most of all with his terrific memory. Ernie got his Mother's incredible memory, and was able to recall many stories in great detail. He shared these stories of with his many family and friends. Ernest will always be in our hearts because there, he will always be alive. Ernie was predeceased by his father Prescott Roper, his mother Eileen Roper, and his brother Byron (Dave) Roper.
