Wilson “Tim” T. Piatt, Jr.

 

Tim Piatt, 88, passed away from a brain aneurysm on October 22, 2020 in Peoria, AZ.  Born August 14, 1932 in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late Wilson and Elsie Piatt.

He graduated from Wilson High School and Lafayette College, both in Easton.  Tim was in the Air Force and two of the four years were spent in Okinawa during the Korean War.  He worked in the Research Department at Dixie Cup Company in Easton where he met the love of his life, Carol (Dearringer).  They were united in marriage in 1965 and recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.  He then worked in the plastics division for American Can Company and American National Can Company taking early retirement in 1991.  During his working years they lived in Easton, PA, Oshkosh, WI, and raised their family in Sugar Grove, IL until they retired to Sun City West, AZ where they lived for 27 years.  They then moved to Independent Living in the Freedom Plaza Retirement Community in Peoria, AZ.  While retired Tim loved playing golf and did so several times a week, even managing to make two holes-in-one.  He and Carol took many cruises and loved them all.  Tim also became involved in building models – Lego as well as wood models.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Carol, are three daughters, Sharon Poynton (Tom) of Easton, PA; Donna Veeser (Jim) of Wills Point, TX; and Linda Vaughan (Brian) of Maple Park, IL; a son, David Piatt (Tonya) of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren, Jenna Poynton Griffith, Jordan Veeser, Katie Veeser Cooper, Taylor Piatt, Heather Piatt, Hannah Piatt, and Ty Vaughan; two great-grandchildren, Anna Poynton and Kade Veeser Anderson; a sister Madelyn Duckworth (Richard) of Leesburg, FL.  He was preceded in death by his step-mother Jane Piatt, brother Bob Piatt, sister Shirley Bowers, and grandson, Tommy Poynton.

Tim’s wish of no services will be honored.  Interment and a family service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
