Karen Lee Corbin Obituary

Karen Lee Corbin left our side on October 20, 2020, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. She was a young 61. Born on February 12, 1959 in New Britain, to Zenon and Margaret (Pelletier) Corbin, Karen grew up in Plainville and graduated from Plainville High School in 1978.

After high school, Karen took a position with American Savings Bank as a bank teller and then went to Heublein, Inc., where she worked as an Executive Assistant for over 18 years. In 1999, Karen went to work for Stanley Black & Decker as an Executive Assistant, eventually becoming the Executive Assistant to Jim Loree, President and CEO. Karen worked for Jim as his assistant for almost 20 years and, over that period, they became close friends. Karen was a beloved friend and extended member of the Loree family.

Karen is survived by the love of her life and significant other of 43 years, Ted Morris of New Britain, and their dog, Bandi.

Karen was an animal lover all her life, especially dogs. She was a sports enthusiast, specifically football and basketball, and loved bowling. Karen was a strong, independent woman, fiercely loyal and protective, ever caring and always putting others before herself. She was a dutiful daughter, a supportive friend, a loving partner and a trusted confidante.

Karen was preceded in death by her father and mother, Zenon and Margaret, and her sister, Angelina Corbin. Knowing that Karen is with her entire family helps to give all who knew and loved her peace.
