Ms. Rita Jo Tatum Hendricks, 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Family Visitation will be Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 11:30 A.M. and will welcome friends beginning at 12:00 P.M. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Browning Cemetery. *In accordance with guidelines issued by the City of Oxford, face coverings will be worn.* Ms. Hendricks was born in Oxford, MS to the late Dorothy Aliene Buckley and John Cooper Tatum, and she was a member of Wade Baptist Church in Wade, MS. She loved the Lord and spending time with her family and two granddaughters. Ms. Hendricks received her Master's Degree in Education. She retired from Jackson County School District after thirty- and one-half years as a Social Studies teacher. She previously worked at Cottage Hill Christian Academy for five years, as well as, the Baptist Children's Village in North Mississippi for six years. She is survived by two sons, Matthew Hendricks of Vancleave, MS and Benjamin (Amanda) Hendricks of Wilmer, AL; two granddaughters, Isabella and Lillie Hendricks; two sisters Betty (James) Kisner and Jonnie (Duke) Manning; and many nieces and nephews.
