BENNETT, RICHARD C., Sr. "Dick" of Waterford, passed away October 22, 2020 at 89 years of age. Loving husband of the late Ruth; cherished father of Dawn Lott, Deborah (David) Hall, Richard (Cheryl) Bennett, Jr., and Cheryl Redding; grandfather of 12; great grandfather of 28; preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Dick was a veteran of the US Army-Korea and retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1985 after 30 years of service. A true survivalist and avid outdoorsman, Dick was also an amazing baker. He had an exceptional mechanical mind; could fix anything; would tinker with anything; as well as building his own cars. He was the neighborhood mentor and everyone called him “Dad”. His smile and sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who loved him. A service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly with military honors at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation to Disabled American Veterans is greatly appreciated.
