Nancy Moulden Obituary

Nancy Moulden passed away peacefully Monday, Oct 19, 2020 at the Pioneer Medical Center in Big Timber Montana. She was 83 years old and born to Leonard and Maureen Christianson in Glendale, CA on March 28, 1937. She spent her younger years enjoying the Southern California lifestyle including time at the beach and visiting many of the attractions of the area. Nancy and Phil met while working at Rocketdyne in Canoga Park, CA where the rocket engines were built for the Apollo 5 mission which put the first man on the moon. Nancy and Phil were married May 29, 1965 in California and moved to Montana in October of 1966 and purchased the Coast to Coast hardware store in Big Timber which they operated for 30 years. Nancy enjoyed many fun activities with her family, friends and neighbors which included lots of camping, bowling, dance club, fireman’s activities, golfing, and the wine making crew. One of the most fun things for her was supporting and following SGHS sports teams here and all over the state. Nancy also chose to give of her time as the Treasurer of the SGC Healthcare Foundation, a member of the Fireman’s Auxilary and Women’s Club, and cookie chairman for Girl Scouts. Along with her busy schedule at the store, she found time to be a wonderful homemaker - canning, baking, helping with homework assignments and later being the best grandma a few crazy boys could ask for. After Nancy retired in 1996, she enjoyed many years of trailer camping starting with a few weeks to Canada and Alaska each summer, moving to months of camping in the Baja Peninsula to escape the winter conditions in Montana, to wintering from November to April in the southwest. She enjoyed exploring all these new places and the familiar places in Montana with many adventures on the 4 wheeler. Nancy is survived by her husband Phil, 2 children Lori Roys and Mike Moulden, 3 grandsons Blaine Myrstol, Todd Myrstol and Malachi Moulden and 1 great-granddaughter Taylor Myrstol. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date. The family would appreciate any donations be made in Nancy’s name to Sweet Grass Cancer Alliance or Hearts and Hands Hospice.
