Marian Boothroyd Obituary

Marian (Helms) Boothroyd, 99, wife of the late Vincent Boothroyd, formerly of Glastonbury, more recently of Bridgeport, passed away October 21, 2020 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was born in Cleveland, OH, daughter of the late Henry and Frieda (Viethen) Helms on May 30, 1921. Prior to her retirement, Marian worked in the Technical Drawings Department of Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. She loved cooking and music, especially playing the piano. She was a very talented artist, both painting and pottery, volunteering at the Glastonbury Senior Center teaching pottery classes. Her sons still have some of her paintings and pottery. Marian will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Robert H. Boothroyd and Melinda Quinn of Bridgeport and Douglas B. Boothroyd and Kathie Sumrow of Bridgeport, her grandchildren, Jason Boothroyd and his wife Erin, Emily Boothroyd and Jim Corbett, Elizabeth Miller and her husband Patrick and Allison Boothroyd. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Coreena, Jason, Sloane, Ella and Sophie. Marian was predeceased by her brother Henry Helms. Friends may call on Saturday October 24, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury.
