Maria E. Martinez, 91, passed away on October 20, 2020 in Laredo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Nicanor Martinez; parents, Basilio & Magdalena Salinas; daughter, Reymunda Morales; son, Jose A. Martinez.

Left to cherish her memory is children: Alfredo Martinez, Benjamin (Agueda) Martinez, Marcelino (Claudia) Martinez, Nemecio (Martha) Martinez, Maria (Rudy) Luna, Rosalba (Simplicio) Chapa, Carmen (Ruben) Gutierrez, Andrea Killgo, Maricela Martinez, Estela Villafranca, 28 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; siblings: Consuelo Salinas, Benita Salinas, Victorino Salinas, and Leandro Salinas, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 23, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez and Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. 

In accordance with city ordinance, the number of visitors will be limited to 50 percent occupancy capacity (90 people) at a time. Please feel free to wait in your vehicle for a turn. Similar or more stringent guidelines are likely applicable at the church and cemetery.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020, from the funeral home to Nuestra Señora del Rosario Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Funeral home opens at 7:00 a.m. and a procession departs at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
