Little Rock- Vinnie Lou Greenwald, 86, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020. She was born October 20, 1934 in Ripley, Tennessee to the late S. Linder and Effie Lorene Thompson. She had worked as a nurse. She enjoyed quilting, singing, arts and crafts, reading, collecting Depression glass and crocheting. She had lived on a farm in New Mexico raising chilies and riding horses. She loved her family. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Walthall (Robert) of Little Rock, Kim Butler (Keith) of Russellville and Kevin Flynn (Vienna) Baltimore, MD; siblings, Betty Mabry of St. Louis, Samuel Lloyd Thompson (Mandy) of Jonesboro, Janice Albert (Dale) of St. Louis and Bobby Thompson of Little Rock; grandchildren, Jason Walthall of Ft. Knox, KY, Michelle Mitchem (John) of Benton, Kristin Butler of Fayetteville, Michael Butler of Amman, Jordan; great-grandchildren, Kadin Watson, Aaron Walthall and Hunter Walthall all of Aberdeen, MD, Ryan Mitchem, Justin Mitchem and Blake Mitchem all of Benton; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Greenwald Jr; the father of her children, Floyd Flynn and a brother, Terry Thompson. A celebration of her life will be 11:00 am Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Macey Cemetery. The visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Rob Walthall, Jason Walthall, John Mitchem, Ryan Mitchem, Justin Mitchem and Dale Albert and honorary pallbearers are Michael Butler, Kadin Watson, Aaron Walthall, Hunter Walthall, Keith Butler and Blake Mitchem. All attendees must wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.
