Emil J. Cicci Obituary

Emil J. Cicci 89 of Ravenna passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 with his loving wife by his side. He was born November 12, 1930 in Lowesville, WV to Nick and Anna (Fugera) Cicci. Emil attended St. Francis High School in Morgantown, WV and worked with his father at his propane gas company in his younger years. He enlisted in the US Marine Corp on September 17, 1951 and served in the Korean War at the 38th parallel and was discharged as a Lance Corporal in 1954. After he was discharged, he moved to Ravenna, Ohio and went to work at the Ford Motor Company, Walton Hills Stamping Plant, where he was a blanker operator. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, where he served as an usher, and the Ravenna Elks Club. Emil enjoyed vacationing with his family in Myrtle Beach, SC and the family said he loved working after retirement with the great staff at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes. Survivors include his wife of 63 years JoAnn (Calanni), daughters Anita (Dr. Patrick) DeMeo, Diane Cicci (Fiancé Bob Purpera), grandchildren Arin, Zachary and Isaac Morgan and P.J. and Kaitlyn DeMeo, siblings David (Carol) Cicci, Cindy (Michael) Shumiloff, Nick Cicci and brother in law Zeke Fischer. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters MaryJo Kucish and Sharon Fischer. Memorial calling hours will be from 4 - 6 PM Friday, October 23, 2020 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel and from 10 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 11 AM Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ravenna. MASK ARE REQUIRED AT THE FUNERAL HOME AND THE CHURCH.
